Giving Dignity and Hope, One Backpack at a Time

Backpacks of Hope was founded in Central Massachusetts by a high school student, to bring joy and comfort to children in our foster care system and juvenile courts. To date we have donated over 150 backpacks, filled with basic necessities and comfort items for kids in juvenile courts throughout Worcester County.

The organization has grown tremendously since then. For the past 2 years, Backpacks of Hope has partnered with local organizations to provide backpacks of comfort items and necessities to clients facing challenges including homelessness, In 2026, the organization embarked on its first drive to provide “Welcome Home” Baskets of household and personal essentials to clients moving into their first apartments after homelessness.
